BANGOR (AP) — Court documents indicate a 12-year-old boy who led Bangor police on a chase in a stolen minivan will remain detained until the case is heard.
The boy is charged with eluding an officer and unauthorized use of a vehicle. The chase last month ended when police rammed the minivan to stop the driver.
A Bangor police officer gave chase early on June 25 after noticing that the van had no headlights and was dragging part of the front bumper.
Police dash-cam video showed the van running stop rights and red lights and making wild turns as it traveled along city streets.
Police say the same boy was charged with stealing a bus in May. An adult was able to get onto the bus and detain the boy until police arrived.
