SINCLAIR (AP) — Police say a man was killed when a seasonal home collapsed in Sinclair in northern Maine.
The Aroostook County Sheriff ’s Department said the victim, 49-year-old Kevin Kearney of Mars Hill, had been under the structure, working to make it level.
WAGM-TV reports that Kearney died while pinned under the lakeside structure.
Firefighters from nearby communities helped local emergency workers stabilize the structure enough to recover the body. North Lakes Fire Chief Darren Woods said the recovery was the most technically difficult he has been involved with in more than 24 years in the fire service.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
