(AP) — A line of thunderstorms moving across northern New England left thousands of people in the dark.

The line of thunderstorms had strong wind gusts on Monday. There also were reports of hail and even a pair of tornado warnings.

Tom Hawley from the National Weather Service said golf ball-sized hail was reported in northern New Hampshire.

In Maine, about 10,000 homes and businesses lost power. About 2,000 customers were in the dark in new Hampshire.

Tornado warnings are rare New England, and at least three were issued in Maine and New Hampshire on Monday. There were no reports of a twister touching down.
