BIDDEFORD — Lorraine Yvette Marquis, 86, of Biddeford, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Biddeford on Dec. 17, 1929, the daughter of Arthur and Medora Gaudette Moreau. She was educated in Biddeford schools, and graduated from the former St. Andre’s High School.

On Oct. 21, 1961, she married Joseph L. Marquis in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. He died on April 25, 1981.

Lorraine was a homemaker. She also worked for the City of Biddeford in the tax collector’s office and for Corning Components Inc. in Biddeford, retiring in 1987.

Lorraine loved spending time with her grandchildren and children. She enjoyed local sports, the Celtics, Red Sox, the New England Patriots and cooking shows.

She is survived by: two sons, John P. Marquis and his wife Janis of Huntingtown, Maryland, and Dana W. Marquis of Biddeford; one daughter, Lynn M. Marquis of Arlington, Virginia; and three grandchildren, Brooks, Gabrielle and Jack.

Visiting hours will be 5- 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at St. Anne’s Chapel in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
