An elderly man who suffers from dementia and who went missing Sunday morning was later found in Guild Hall, Vermont, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Jerome Fecteau, 76, of Shapleigh was last seen leaving his home around 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Sheriff William L. King Jr. said in a news release.

“Jerome Fecteau has been located in Guild Hall, Vermont. Family members are in route to pick him up,” King said in another release issued at 5:22 p.m.

Late Sunday evening, King said that Fecteau’s family reported he was safe and with them “thanks to a benevolent Vermont family and the Vermont State Police.”
