PHIPPSBURG — On Wednesday, August 10 at the Totman Library in Phippsburg, three presenters from the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine will lead a discussion titled “Putting Fun into Funerals: Funeral Alternatives and Natural Burial”. The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by a discussion, and questions and answers, ending at 7:30 p.m. The event is free to the public and all are welcome to attend.
The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine, is an all-volunteer nonprofit educational organization dedicated to helping members make informed decisions about after-death arrangements that are dignified, meaningful, and affordable.
Presenting will be Chuck Lakin, woodworker who makes coffins and home funeral educator; Alison Rector, a volunteer serving as board President of FCA Maine, as well as nationally as board member of the national Funeral Consumers Alliance; and Valerie Lovelace is the founder and executive director of It’s My Death, a charity based in Wiscasset that encourages discussions about the end of life.
