BRUNSWICK
Bowdoin College has announced the hiring of 2009 graduate Damon Hall as assistant coach for the men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track programs.
Most recently an assistant coach at the California Institute of Technology, he joins the Polar Bear coaching staff replacing Casey Ellis, who stepped down from her position following the spring campaign.
Prior to Cal Tech, Hall served three seasons as the varsity track and field coach at The Maret School in Washington, D.C., as the program improved dramatically under his leadership including 20 school records.
A 12-season athlete in his time at Bowdoin (football, indoor and outdoor track), Hall was the NESCAC Champion in the 100-meter dash his senior year and was also an All-NESCAC performer for the Polar Bear football team. He was named the school’s Sidney J. Watson Award for an outstanding multi-sport athlete in 2009. He won multiple Maine state titles both as an individual and member of relays, and claimed the Alan Hillman Award for Most Outstanding Athlete at the State of Maine Championship in 2008.
Hall holds a USATF Level 1 Coaching Program certification and USTFCCCA Track and Field Technical Certification.
