A Sanford man missing since Wednesday was found Friday morning.

Sanford police had put out an alert early Friday morning saying they were trying to located Romeo Lapierre, 69. He had last been seen Wednesday afternoon in West Gardiner and was traveling without medication he needed for multiple health issues.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office found Lapierre in his car. Police said he is OK, but disoriented and was being checked out by local emergency medical services.

Lapierre was reported missing around noon Thursday by Kimberly Kramer-Lapierre, police said. Kramer-Lapierre told police that Romeo Lapierre, 69, dropped her off on Pilgrim Lodge Lane in West Gardiner around 3 p.m. Wednesday. He had been scheduled to return home that day. When she contacted neighbors to check on Romeo Lapierre, she was told he had not returned home.

Lapierre’s family has been notified.
