A Buxton man was arrested after police say he led them on a chase Saturday night with three small children in his car.

Jason Henderson, 32, was arrested Sunday morning at his home, Maine State Police said.

Trooper Kyle Wells tried to stop Henderson for a traffic violation on Plains Road in Hollis about 7 p.m. Saturday. Henderson drove away quickly, going through a crowded parking lot and backyard and almost hitting a swing set before he stopped, state police said. He then ran into the woods.

Wells found three small children and Henderson’s girlfriend in the car. Henderson was later arrested at his home.

Henderson was charged with felony counts of eluding an officer and operating after revocation. He will also face a charge of child endangerment and driving to endanger, police said. He is being held on $1,500 bail at the York County Jail.
