BATH — A one-time golf memorial tournament in memory of Mark “Billa” Billington will be held on Saturday at Bath Golf Club.
The event will raise funds to place a granite bench at Bath Golf Club in Billington’s memory.
The tournament begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start, and will be played in a points format, with pins and skins.
The entry fee is $50 for Bath Golf Club members, $75 for non members. The price includes green fees, a cart, prize money, lunch, dinner and a donation for the bench.
Golfers can sign up at Bath Golf Club, with the deadline set for Tuesday.
Four-player teams will be put together by the committee and will be available on Wednesday.
Checks should be made out to Billa’s Bench Fund and mailed to First Federal Savings & Loan, ATTN; Andrew Perry, 126 Front Street, Bath, ME 04530.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
