Jason Henderson, 32, was arrested at a home in Buxton Sunday, according to Maine State Police, and was charged with eluding an officer and operating after his license was revoked as an habitual offender.
The incident played out Saturday, police said in a social media posting, when Trooper Kyle Wells attempted to stop Henderson for an unspecified traffic violation.
Police said the vehicle drove through a crowded parking lot and eventually into a backyard, narrowly missing a child’s swing set. Then the driver got out and ran away.
Wells found three children in the car, along with Henderson’s girlfriend.
Maine State Police put out word Saturday that Henderson was wanted on charges of eluding an officer, endangering the welfare of a child, driving to endanger and driving after his license had been revoked.
