NORTH BERWICK — Fresh on the heels of a visit to Sanford last week, Gov. Paul LePage will host a town hall-style meeting Wednesday at Noble High School, 388 Somersworth Road.
The governor will deliver remarks about moving Maine forward and answer questions from residents. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6-7 p.m. meeting.
Spokeswoman Adrienne Bennett said the meeting will focus on LePage’s vision for Maine, including further reducing the income tax, reforming welfare by strengthening the state’s safety net for the most vulnerable, cutting energy costs and addressing Maine’s high student debt burden.
The governor will also highlight five citizens’ referendum questions featured on the November ballot. In Sanford last week, LePage said he is against all of the questions.
He did not address Question 6, which asks voters if they favor a $100 million bond to pay for roads, bridges, ports, harbors, marine transportation, freight and passenger railroads and other methods of transportation. The bond would draw down about $137 million in federal and other funds.
