High winds during a storm on Friday, Aug. 12, knocked down trees and tree branches in South Freeport, especially on Spar Cove Road. This home on South Freeport Road sustained roof damage that resulted in water damage inside, according to Paul Conley, deputy fire chief. A number of trees were down and  entwined with power lines on Spar Cove Road, making it impassable, Conley said.
