SANFORD — Sara J. Frankel, 36, of Sanford, died at her home on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016.

Sara was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 17, 1980, to David and Cherry Frankel. She lived in Hollywood until the age of 7, when she relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where she grew up and attended local schools. She moved to Maine in 2005.

Sara was a devoted mother who referred to her boys as the window to her soul. When she was young, she enjoyed ice skating with her father. She also enjoyed writing and drawing, and had recently begun attending Curtis Lake Christian Church.

Sara was a kind and loving woman with many friends. We will all miss our beloved Sara. We love you.

She is survived by: two sons, Vincent Elvis Cheney and Ethen James Cheney, both of Acton; her parents, Cherry Frankel of Cottonwood, Arizona, and David Frankel of Oakland; and her grandfather, Alan Frankel of Waterville.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
