Damon Osmond and Raz Baltazar each ran for over 100 yards as the Morse High School football team opened its season on Friday with a solid 39-6 Class B South victory over Gorham.

Osmond carried seven times for 132 yards and scored three times, while Baltazar added 119 yards on 14 carries. Dillon Havener contributed 30 yards and two scores on the ground, while Parker Onorato chipped in 36 yards.

Morse, 1-0 and slated to host Leavitt this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m., quarterback Connor Upham was 5- of- 12 for 82 yards. He hooked up with Tyler York for a touchdown.

Defensively, Tait Nygaard had a team-high 10 tackles for Morse, with Osmond and Baltazar each picking up nine stops. Aris Eich also made seven solo tackles.

“The kids played hard,” said Morse coach Jason Darling. “It’s always good to start the season with a win. We’re really looking forward to Friday night.”
