BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Downtown Association is busy raising money for holiday lighting for Maine Street. The fundraising goal this year is to raise $20,000 to decorate Brunswick’s downtown in white lights for the 2016 holiday season.
To date, the BDA has raised $4,800. Included in the total are the proceeds from the 50/50 ticket sales at the Music on the Mall Summer Concert Series.
Bill Dodge Auto Group and Maine Natural Gas are major sponsors.
“This year we hope to light up even more trees along Maine Street for residents and visitors to enjoy” said BDA Executive Director Debora King.
This year, lights and wreaths will be added to all of the lampposts along Maine Street from Pleasant to Noble Streets. A lamp post adoption program will be revealed soon.
Fundraising progress can be tracked on the BDA’s fundraising thermometer, created in the shape of a tree and installed at the entrance to the Tontine Mall.
Donations to the Holiday Lighting Fund can be made online at brunswickdowntown.org/forms/holiday lighting or in person at Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections at 143 Maine Street in Brunswick. Donors will receive a free chocolate when giving $10 or more.
