GORHAM — Senior Kyle Curley and former Mt. Ararat High School standout and sophomore Christopher Pepin have been named captains of the 2016 University of Southern Maine Huskies’ men’s soccer team.
Head coach Mike Keller made the announcement during the Huskies’ preseason preparations.
Curley is returning for his third year as one of the Huskies’ captains, while Pepin will assume the leadership role for the first time in 2016.
“Kyle and Christopher have both demonstrated their leadership ability on-and-off the field,” noted Keller. “Kyle has been a tremendous student-athlete and his play on the field is outstanding. His leadership and maturity is vital to our team and has been throughout his career. Pepin is an emerging leader for us and has shown his commitment and determination.”
Pepin played and started in 14 of USM’s contests in 2015 as a member of the midfield unit.
