Natalie Anderson blasted a shot into the goal late in the first half, lifting the Freeport High School field hockey team to a 3-0 Western Maine Conference win over Lake Region on Wednesday.
The Falcons, 3-1-1 and slated to host Poland Saturday at 11 a.m., used two early second-half goals to put the Lakers away one game after dropping a decision to Kennebunk.
Chloe Davidson doubled Freeport’s lead just 90 seconds into the second frame off a give-and-go assist from Alexa Koenig.
Two minutes later, Emily Randall sent a shot on frame, with Maya Bradbury putting home the rebound.
Freeport keeper Megan Seymour and Lake Region netminder Maddie Nelson had seven saves each.
Defensively, the Falcons were led by Kelsey Williams and Izzy Masison.
