A Casco woman was seriously injured when her SUV went off the road on Route 11 in Naples.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said the Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ruth Bliss, 48, crossed the centerline of the road around 2 p.m., crashed into some trees on the other side and caught fire.
Sheriff’s deputies said Bliss was the only person in the vehicle and no other cars were involved.
They said the fire was quickly put out and Bliss was taken by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. A hospital official said she had no information on Bliss’ condition Saturday night.
Route 11 was closed for much of Saturday afternoon following the crash but was later reopened.
The Sheriff’s Office said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
