SKOWHEGAN — The Mt. Ararat High School boys jayvee soccer team rolled to an 8-1 victory over Skowhegan on Friday.
Sophomore Maximo Varela led the charge with a hat trick, scoring twice from Jake Fusco (one corner kick) and once from Jason Halliday, who also assisted Ryan Glass on a goal.
Glass and George Bien added two more goals from Nathan Taylor, while Tristan Burch added a score from Cyrus Warren and another unassisted.
In net, Mitchell Surace blocked five shots and James Singleton one.
Thomas Davidson, Brewster Chard and Jonas Lodenkemper played well for the Eagles (3-2), who will travel to South Paris and take on Oxford Hills today.
