WATERBORO — The Massabesic field hockey team continued to dominate the Class A South conference with a 9-0 win over Deering, Monday.
The Mustangs jumped out early, racking up a 4-0 lead by the end of the first half.
Emma Rutledge scored at the 27:18 mark in the first, followed by a goal from teammate Jackie Bearse just over a minute later. Logan Champlin had assists on each goal.
Josie Ring would score Massabesic’s third goal, followed by a tip-in goal from Rutledge.
Bearse would then score her second goal early in the second half to extend the Mustang lead to 5-0. Sophia LaFrance added another goal, followed by Rutledge, who scored her third goal to complete the hat trick.
Colby Williams and Aspen Reinauer would score the final two goals in the remaining 10 minutes to secure the win.
The Mustangs improve to a perfect 7-0 on the season.
Golf
Kennebunk 9.5, Marshwood 3.5
The Rams picked up a win over Marshwood Monday afternoon. Owen Manahan shot a match-low 42, while teammate Chris Grady shot a 46. Spencer Desrochers and Alex Champagne would also shoot 48 each.
