FAIRFIELD (AP) — Maine state police have charged a man with murder following the discovery of his wife’s body.
Police say they took Luc Tieman into custody Wednesday. He’s charged in the death of Valerie Tieman, whose body was 200 to 300 yards behind the home of her in-laws.
A state police spokesman says cadaver dogs found the body within minutes of beginning a search outside the home Tuesday. A medical examiner is performing an autopsy.
Valerie Tieman was a Greenville, South Carolina, high school graduate.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way.
