THE MT. ARARAT HIGH SCHOOL field hockey program recently presented a check for $10,150 to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program of Scarborough. The money was raised during a preseason field hockey tournament in Topsham involving teams from Maranacook, Boothbay, Morse, Lincoln Academy, Brunswick, Mt. Ararat and Freeport. In addition, $800 was raised by a local family, the Arndt’s, whose daughter Madison is battling Stage III high risk neuroblastoma, an intense form of cancer. Several area businesses contributed, which enabled the Eagles to double their fundraising efforts from 2015.
