The police department said in a press release Monday the two suspects had been detained for theft at the department store, located in the Shops at Biddeford Crossing, on Friday. The two allegedly fled from the store and made off in a 15-foot U-Haul box truck upon learning the police had been called.
Police said the truck jumped a median on Route 111 in Biddeford at a high rate of speed, causing some of the vehicle’s windows to break. The truck failed to stop for BPD officers and made off northbound on the Maine Turnpike.
Police say the U-Haul displayed Arizona license plates with the number AG15412. The suspects told Kohl’s employees they were from Arizona, giving the false names Stephen S. McKentire and Amanda L. Parkerson.
The BPD requests anyone with information about the suspects to call the police department at 282-5127 or use the department’s online crime tip tool at www.bpd.net.
