From the Journal Tribune: “Town Meeting members Tuesday approved a $670,000 bond to remove an old World War II hangar and reconstruct taxiways at Sanford Regional Airport. The approval will help Oxford Aviation in its plan to build a new $7 million facility on a town– owned 18–acre parcel.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Biddeford Mayor Leo R. Lemire said today, ‘The City Council chambers should be used to conduct city business and not to campaign for office. I will not conduct my campaign there.’ Lemire made the statement following a fiery three hour session of the council last night when he was the target of attacks from Council President Bernard Neveux and Councilman David Twomey.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Clarence Berube, who lives on Bradbury Street, while watching a game of football early last evening, fell and fractured his collar bone. Dr. Dolloff was called and the lad was taken to the Webber Hospital, where the fracture was reduced. Today he is reported as doing well.”
