BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College freshman Thomas Dunleavy has been named First Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in league awards announced on Tuesday.
Dunleavy became the first Polar Bear to garner First Team All-NESCAC recognition since 2008 after finishing in a tie for fourth at the conference’s fall qualifier last weekend.
Dunleavy shot a 70 on the first day at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury on Saturday before firing a 74 on Sunday to finish at 144, just five strokes off the winning score.
Jeff Cutter was the last Bowdoin player to earn a First Team All-Conference selection in 2008.
Placement on the NESCAC Men’s Golf All- Conference Team is based on individual performance at the qualifier.
The Polar Bears will continue their season this weekend with the CBB Championship on Saturday at the Brunswick Golf Club.
