BELFAST

The Morse High School girls soccer team improved to 8-2 with a 4-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B victory over Belfast on Tuesday.

The Shipbuilders return to action today at home against Gardiner at 6 p.m.

Trailing 1-0, Amanda Gagne evened the game for Morse as she converted a Hope Faulkingham pass.

Gagne put Morse ahead to stay just four minutes into the second half. The Shipbuilders kept the pressure on the Lions, pinning them in their defensive zone for most of the half, but it took 20 minutes for the next score when Emily Martin ran onto a Gagne pass and fired a shot through the keeper’s hands. The same two accounted for the final goal as Martin again finished a Gagne pass.
