SANFORD — Lucille D. Thereault, 85, of Sanford and a life-long resident of Biddeford, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Biddeford, a daughter of Hormidas and Marie Ange (LeBel) Gagne, and was educated locally.

She worked in local shoe shops as a young woman, and spent most of her working life employed with Components/AVX, retiring in 1996.

On May 18, 1962, she married Roland P. Thereault at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Lucille enjoyed puzzles and coloring.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Roland, on Feb. 21, 2009; a brother, Raymond; a sister, Gertrude Nadeau; and a granddaughter, Miranda Thereault.

She is survived by: one daughter, Irene Donnelly and her husband Daniel of Sanford; three sons, Roger Petrin and his fiancée Donna Carter of Biddeford, Danny Thereault of Waterboro, and Dennis “Rick” Thereault and his wife Sandra of Biddeford; a brother, Marcel Gagne of Biddeford; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Anne’s Chapel, St. Joseph’s Church, Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Biddeford.
