Simonds, of Standish, has been a fixture in the professional banking community in southern Maine for nearly 30 years. Her leadership evolved from an assistant manager at TD Bank in Portland to vice president, market manager and mortgage lender at another bank in Sanford. She also has a diverse background in residential real estate, and received her real estate sales agent license in 2014.
Outside of work, Simonds stays busy and contributes her time to multiple local organizations and causes. She has participated in a number of area nonprofits, including Strategies for a Stronger Sanford, United Way, the Sanford-Springvale Rotary board, and Strike Out Cancer in Kids.
“Not only does Sherry have the expertise and proven track record in the banking industry – mortgages, in particular – her active involvement in the community provides a great point of networking and communication,” said SIS Bank President and CEO Mark T. Mickeriz. “As someone who shares the same community values as our Bank, she will be a fantastic addition to our team.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
