SACO — Ralph C. LaMarre Jr., 68, of Saco, passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15, 2016, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Biddeford on Nov. 4, 1947, a son of Ralph and Rita (White) LaMarre. He graduated from St. Louis High School, Class of 1966.

Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1966 to 1970. He was employed by the City of Saco as a police officer for 18 years. He later was employed by the Department of Health and Human Services for 11 years in Portland.

Ralph had a great love of the outdoors, and was always hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, and adored his grandchildren. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.

He is survived by: his wife of 45 years, Dorothy (Ouellette) LaMarre; one son, Robert C. LaMarre and wife Amy R. LaBrecque; one daughter, Robyn C. LaMarre and husband Arun V. Panangadan; three grandchildren, Sophia, Oceanna and Hugo; one brother, Richard C. LaMarre and his wife Rita; two nieces, Sharon and Renee; and two nephews, Ryan and Scott.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Most Holy Trinity Church, Saco. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
