FREEPORT — Hazel F. McGinnis, 91, resident of Old County Road in Freeport died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Hawthorne House in Freeport following a long illness. She was born June 7, 1925 in Clintwood, VA a daughter of Wayne and Alpha (Brennen) Hibbitts. She was educated in Clintwood schools.
In 1959 Hazel married Alva McGinnis and together they moved to Maine. She had worked various jobs but mostly had worked as a housekeeper at Parkview Hospital in Brunswick.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alva who died in 1969 and a sister Mary C. Fletcher.
Survivors include 4 sons, Robert W. Williams of Topsham, ME, Ronald O. Williams of Lisbon, ME, Kenneth R. Williams of Ellenton, FL, Richard D. Williams of Clinchco, VA, a daughter Patricia Knight of Litchfield, ME, two brothers, William Hibbitts of Kingsport, TN, Robert Hibbitts of Mt. Carmel, TN, a sister Rita Jean Griffin of Jonesboro, TN, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
