OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Residents re-elected three town councilors, one school board member, the town clerk and approved four changes to the town charter Tuesday.
In a five-way race for three town council seats, current Town Council Chairman Shawn O’Neill received 3150 votes, town councilor Michael Tousignant received 2803 votes and current town councilor Kenneth Blow received 2666 votes. Candidate Roxanne Frenette received 2416 votes and Gholamreza Namin received 1141 votes.
School board member Carolyn Marcotte was reelected, beating Irving Hirst Jr. 3103-1451.
Town Clerk Kim McLaughlin, who ran unopposed, was re-elected with 4663 votes.
Residents voted 3745-1272 to amend the charter to allow the town to sell unwanted property through auction or a brokerage.
Residents voted 3311-1805 to eliminate term limits for town councilors.
Residents voted 4121-1067 to amend the conflict of interest section of the charter.
Residents voted 3758-1432 to eliminate the requirement to publish town meeting agendas in a newspaper.
