BRUNSWICK — The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority has announced that Pan Am Railways has concluded the tie replacement project on the track between Portland and Wells ahead of schedule. Full Downeaster service between Portland and Boston was to resume with the operation of Train 680 on Thursday. Bus transportation will continue to be provided for passengers traveling north of Portland to Freeport and Brunswick through Friday.
The Downeaster will begin operating a new schedule with expanded service to Freeport and Brunswick on Monday, November 21, 2016, in time for the busy Thanksgiving travel period.
