LINCOLN, N.H.
A dozen New Hampshire ski areas are announcing their tentative opening days, starting with Loon Mountain Resort, which plans to open Wednesday.
A list released by the state Division of Travel and Tourism and Ski NH shows six resorts planning to open in late November, a handful in early December and the rest in mid- to late December.
In addition to Loon, the earliest openings are expected at Bretton Woods, which has set Thursday as its target, and four areas that plan to open on Friday: Cranmore Mountain Resort, Mount Sunapee Resort, Cannon Mountain and Waterville Valley Resort.
The dates are tentative and weather dependent, so skiers should check SkiNH.com for updates.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
