The Southwestern Maine Activities Association and The Western Maine Conference recently announced some of their All-Conference teams, and a handful of local athletes were recognized.
SMAA Football (South)
Sanford defensive end Gage Cyr was named to the SMAA South Conference defensive first team, along with Thornton Academy tackle Kyle Holman. TA’s Cam Houde, Cam Cadorette and Adam Gibbons were also selected to the defensive first team.
Sanford’s Nick Works, Ethan Belanger and Frankie Veino were named to the second team, along with TA’s Michael Laverriere.
Leverriere was also named to the SMAA South all-conference offensive team, along with teammate Nick Bartholomew. Sanford’s Keith Kerrigan, Belanger and Works were also recognized on the first team.
TA’s Cadorette, Holman and Jerry Nason were named to the second offensive team, as well as Sanford’s Veino.
WMC Soccer
Kennebunk’s Sarah Till, Kendall Dolan and Hallie Schwartzman were named to the Class A/B girls squad, along with Wells’ Hannah Cottis.
Kennebunk’s Brandon Whitten and Max Murray were also recognized on the boys Class A/B team.
Old Orchard Beach’s Tiffany Leclair and Brianna Plante were named to the Class C All-Conference team.
SMAA Volleyball
Biddeford’s Kendra Cote was named to the SMAA volleyball first team, while teammate Julia Murray was named to the second team.
Biddeford’s Megan Friel, Massabesic’s Taylor Starbird and Thornton Academy’s Kim Grant were honorable mentions.
