The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department has announced several programs over the winter sports season.

Elks Foul Shooting
This annual contest will take place on Dec. 29 at the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Center, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Boys and girls ages 8-13, as of April 1, 2017, are eligible.
Preregistration is required.
Open Gym
This program runs on Sundays inside Mt. Ararat High School.
Participants are asked to use the back side entrance to the gym.
For SAD-75 residents only, open gym runs from 2-4 p.m. for families, at a cost of $1 per person. Children under fifth grade must be accompanied by a parent/adult.
Adult Open Gym will be held from 4-6 p.m., with a cost of $1 per participant.
Youth Wrestling
Mt. Ararat coaches will run this fun-filled, skillbuilding program beginning Jan. 10.
This program runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 10 weeks, with ages 4-6 going from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at a cost of $15.
Grades 2-5 will be take part from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and costs $37.
This program is for SAD- 75 residents only. Participants need to wear the proper attire (shorts, sneakers).
Learn to Ski
Held at Lost Valley in Auburn, lessons begin on Jan. 10.
With a departure time of 4:15 p.m. from the Topsham Town Hall (returns at 8:30 p.m.), this program allows participants to learn how to ski or snowboard.
The Rec. has several packages. For lessons and transportation, the cost is $145, while lessons, rentals and transportation runs for $215.
Ski passes for Lost Valley cost $95, with ski pass plus rentals runs for $160.
The deadline for signing up is Dec. 15, with a $20 late fee charged after that date.
The program is for children in SAD-75 only.
Little Dribblers
This year’s Little Dribblers Basketball Program is for children in grades 1-2.
The program will be run by Mt. Ararat High School girls coach Andy Morris and his varsity squad, and is a six-week program held on Saturday mornings.
The deadline to register is Dec. 15, and this fun-filled program teaching basketball fundamentals begins on Jan. 7.
Top Hoops
A basketball program for players in grades 7-8 will begin on Jan. 7.
Mt. Ararat boys high school coach Steve Cox and his varsity team will run this five-week program for players looking to spruce up their skills.
The cost is $35 and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Tickets
The Topsham Rec. has several tickets for skiing, including Attitash, Shawnee Peak, Wild Cat Mountain and Lost Valley.
