TOPSHAM — Alvin Goddu Litchfield died November 26th at his home in the Highlands after a short illness. Al was born in Winchester, MA to parents Alvin Macaulay Litchfield and Audrey Goddu Litchfield.
He graduated from Middlesex School in Concord, MA and from Bowdoin College with the class of 1954. After graduation he served for two years in the Army’s Psychological Warfare Unit at Fort Bragg North Carolina.
He was Vice President of the family business (founded in 1865) in Boston for several years, at the same time being very active with youth hockey and other sports programs in Acton, MA.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Chambers Litchfield and three sons: Alvin Douglas Litchfield and his wife Judy, of Rock Springs, WY; Peter Chambers Litchfield and his wife Sarah, of Tampa, FL; and John Macaulay Litchfield and his wife Lisa, of Austin, TX; and three grandchildren: Elizabeth Jane Litchfield, Braeden Emory Litchfield, and Kyra Macaulay Litchfield.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.FuneralAlternatives.net
