LEWISTON — Carolyn Ann “Carrie” Nelson, 52, passed away on December 8, 2016. She is embarking on her next journey after a yearlong battle with Endometrial Cancer. She was born on August 2, 1964 in Lynnfield, MA and spent her youth in Topsham, Maine graduating from Mt. Ararat High School in 1982. Carrie attended the University of Maine, and then entered the retail industry, where she worked for 32 years in management.

She lived a very independent life devoting her time to her family, dogs and career. She loved arts and crafts, cooking, reading, gardening, hiking, walking her dogs, and travelling. Additionally she enjoyed spending her days off at her parents’ camp on China Lake, curled up in the hammock reading a good book. She spent much of her summer time off with her Mom and Dad.

Carrie is survived by her parents Peter and Sandra Nelson of Haines City, FL; her sister Sally Webster of Jacksonville, FL; and her brother Nathaniel and his wife Maria Nelson of Portland, ME. Additional survivors include nephews and nieces: Jacoby Taylor, Justin Webster, Alexsandra Webster, Ellie Nelson, and Gavin Nelson; plus cousins: Paul Blair, Kathy Enman, Mark Nelson, Jamie Nutting, Todd Taylor, and Chris Nelson. Surviving uncles and aunts include David Blair and his wife Karen; Jeffery Nelson and his wife Marilyn; and Jon Nelson and his wife Wendy. She also leaves behind her beloved and devoted dog Graham.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, leaving at such a young age. She followed this creed “Live Your Best Life”.

We love you daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, niece and friend.

A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Wednesday December 14, 2016 from 10 – 11:00 am at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville, ME with the funeral service also at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM.
