FREEPORT — The Freeport High School jayvee girls basketball team jumped out to a 15-6 first quarter lead, but Poland rallied back to win the game, 38-26, on Friday night.
Lindsay Routhier had a team-high 12 points for Freeport (0-1) and was a defensive standout. Teammate Annika Thomas had six points.
For Poland (1-0), Jordan Gregory scored 12 points, while Morgan Chouinard and Caitlin Doyle each contributed eight points. The Falcons converted 2-of-6 foul shots and the Knights were 0-for-10.
Freeport will host Waynflete tonight.
