BATH — Bath Housing Executive Director Debora Keller recently received the 2016 Stephen B. Mooers Award from Maine Housing. John Gallagher, executive director of Maine- Housing, presented the award to Keller at the recent Maine Affordable Housing Coalition conference. The award recognizes the contributions of individuals in the housing field who exemplify a lifelong commitment to assist Maine people in obtaining and maintaining quality affordable housing and services.
In her three years as Executive Director, Debora has recommitted the organization to serving the community. In response to needs identified in a comprehensive housing assessment,
Bath Housing launch the Community Aging in Place (CAP) Program — a new, simple home modification program. The goal of the program is to demonstrate that small investments in home safety can extend the time seniors can stay safely in their own home while improving health outcomes. Bath Housing is now partnering with MaineHousing to bring the program to four other housing authorities in Maine.
Bath Housing owns and manages affordable housing properties locally serving 166 families. The organization also administers the housing choice voucher program. For more information, call (207) 443-3116 or visit bathhousing.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
