SOUTH PARIS—Ronald Gerard Parent, 72, of South Paris, formerly of Buxton, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 at his home.

Ronald was born in Saco on March 9, 1944, a son of Leo and Bernice (Caron) Parent. He attended Notre Dame de Lourdes School and Thornton Academy.

Ronald worked as a welder for over 30 years at Gabriel Electronics in Scarborough. He also ran a small motorcycle shop out of his home, and had most recently worked part-time at Sam’s Club in Scarborough as a gas station attendant.

As a muscle car enthusiast, Ron liked going to car club shows. In his younger years he enjoyed dog sledding, raising and training huskies, and roller skating.

He married Rachel Seeley on June 24, 1995.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the caregivers at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the outstanding care Ronald received.

Ron is predeceased by an infant brother, Joseph Ronald Parent.

Besides his wife, Ronald leaves behind a daughter, Crystal Minor and her husband, Michael, of Hollis; a son, Scott Parent; a brother, Roger Parent of Saugus, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Jessica Minor of Portland, and Kristofer Minor and his wife, Robin, and their children, Sage and Jade all of Hollis; a stepdaughter, Denice LeBlanc, and her children, Kelsey, Nathaniel and Alex, all of Oxford.

Visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford, followed by an 11:30 a.m. memorial service. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford at a later date to be announced.
