WEST BATH

Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department deployed a Taser early Thursday morning while attempting to arrest a man for disorderly conduct.

Deputies Matt Sharpe and Mark Anderson were called to an apartment on New Meadows Road at 12:14 a.m. in response to a complaint of loud disturbances.

Chief Deputy Brett Strout said the person who leases the apartment was not there, but deputies found two men who were being quite loud and wouldn’t settle down.

“As a result of their behavior, they ended up getting arrested,” he said.

Kevin Watrous, 34, with a last know address in Bath, was arrested on a warrant out of Sagadahoc County for failure to appear in court for a charge of theft by unauthorized taking. He also allegedly tried to convince deputies he was someone else, and was charged with failure to provide proper identification. He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.

Also arrested was Gary Page, 38, with a last know address in Georgetown.

The chief said Page became physical with Deputy Sharpe during the arrest. Sharpe used his Taser, which resulted in Page submitting to arrest.

Following standard procedure any time a person is punctured with darts used in a Taser, Page was taken to the hospital, according to Strout. Page was also checked by hospital staff due to his high level of intoxication. Following his release from the hospital he was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
