AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine Gov. Paul LePage says an emergency proclamation will make certain the state’s residents get their heating oil delivered without delays.
The “State of Emergency” proclamation on Tuesday is designed to enable a waiver to be granted that allows heating oil delivery personnel to stay on the road longer. LePage says it will make sure homes and businesses are able to get fuel and stay warm.
LePage says the early arrival of low temperatures in the state has necessitated the move. The order is in effect until Jan. 18 or until he declares the emergency over.
