LEWISTON — Allie Coppola popped for a career-high 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to power the Bates College women’s basketball team to a 64-57 victory over Colby in the New England Small College Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Friday inside Alumni Gym.
Bates (4-8, 1-0 NESCAC) came from behind, out-scoring the Mules, 16-8, in the fourth quarter. Coppola had 12 points in the final frame.
Former Freeport High School standout Nina Davenport had 11 points, four rebounds and three assists in the win.
