ESSEX, Vt. — The Mt. Ararat/Brunswick wrestling team traveled to the 37th annual Michael J. Baker Classic last Friday and Saturday.
The Eagles/Dragons contingent finished second out of 31 teams from Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Massachusetts.
The team from Concord, N.H., won the meet.
Mt. Ararat/Brunswick’s Robert Hetherman at 170 pounds led the way, taking first place by defeating the Vermont state champion. He also was awarded a trophy for the most pins in the least amount of time.
Caden Kowalsky (113 pounds), Jabbar Belin (126), Christian Jensen (138) and Dylan Schenk (220) each took second in their weight classes.
Logan Conkling (285) was third, and Josiah Langworthy was sixth.
Other team members who contributed to the total team effort were Ben Laurence, Brett Raio, Austin Cook, Isaac Ducatt, Matthew Ducatt, Brady Mitchell and Evan Smith.
