BRUNSWICK — Hannah Mae Vigue, 102, of 2 Laurel Road peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at home with her family.

She was born in Guilford on February 8, 1914, a daughter of Harry M. and Effie M. (Chadbourne) Prescott. She graduated from Monson Academy in 1931. She went on to graduate from State Street Hospital as a nurse in 1934. On January 26, 1935 she married John H. Vigue and lived in the Kennebunk area for many years. They moved to Brunswick in 1973.

Hannah lived her life by her 3 B’s – Be Still, Be Calm and Be Kind. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, reading and cooking. She was a member of the Topsham Garden Club and a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. Hannah spent most of her years volunteering to take care of her family, friends and neighbors. She was the family historian and treasured her knowledge about many generations on both the Vigue and Steward/ Prescott families.

She was predeceased by her husband John H. Vigue on Nov. 2, 1978 and her son John T. Vigue on August 3, 2013.

She is survived by 4 grandchildren; John A. Vigue of Woolwich, Timothy J. Vigue and his wife Debbie of West Bath, Michelle J. Jensen and her husband Jaime Poulin of Windham and Cheryl J. Burks and her husband Tyrone of Suffolk, Virginia, 9 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by her dog and loving companion, Dewey.

Burial will be at Foreside Cemetery in Falmouth in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road, #200, Framingham, MA 01701.
