Sister Jacqueline was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, on Oct. 30, 1923. She was the oldest of the seven children born to Rosario Bilodeau and Augustine Cadrin Bilodeau. The family moved to Berthier-Sur-Mer in Canada when Sr. Jacqueline was 4 years old. Here she received her elementary education. Her high school education was obtained at St. Anne High in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Sister Jacqueline entered the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, also known as the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec, at their novitiate in Quebec on Feb. 2, 1942. Soon after her initial formation years, Sister Jacqueline returned to minister in the United States. For much of her life Sister Jacqueline worked in food service. She was food service director at Bay View Convent, a cook in many local communities and employed in the food service department at St. Andre Health Care Facility. She was involved in parish ministry in both Old Town and Biddeford.
Sister Jacqueline was a member of the Spiritual Renewal Team and served the community as a member of the Provincial Council for nine years as well as local superior for many years. In 1997, she was transferred to St. Joseph Convent in Biddeford, where she continued to serve as a spiritual companion to the sisters at the Good Shepherd Pavilion.
She is survived by: one sister, Marguerite, and three brothers, Charles, Rosaire and Yvon Bilodeau, all residing in Canada.
Visiting hours will be at St. Joseph Convent, 409 Pool St., from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Convent, 409 Pool St., Biddeford, at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Biddeford.
