BRUNSWICK
Brunswick police arrested a Phippsburg man for operating under the influence after he allegedly struck the Taco Bell/KFC with his vehicle Tuesday afternoon on Gurnet Road.
Police received a call at 3:17 p.m. about an intoxicated driver who had struck the building at the drive-through and then drove off, Brunswick Police Cmdr. Mark Waltz said. The caller was able to give a description of the vehicle as well as the license plate number.
Waltz said Marine Warden Paul Plummer happened to locate the Toyota Tacoma on Bath Road and stopped it. Officer Justin Dolci assisted in arresting Daniel Carlton Saunders, 52, for operating under the influence.
Officers had the vehicle towed and with it went a bucket of chicken sitting in the front seat.
Waltz said the police report didn’t indicate there was any significant damage to the building.
