Chris Carter, who tied for the National League home run lead last season, agreed Tuesday to a $3.5 million, one-year contract with the New York Yankees.

The deal, which is subject to a successful physical, includes a $500,000 signing bonus, a $3 million salary and $500,000 in performance bonuses: $100,000 each for 250, 300, 350, 400 and 450 plate appearances.

“I am excited to go play for a bigger market team with more national exposure,” Carter said.

Carter, whose career-high 41 home runs last season matched Nolan Arenado of Colorado for tops in the NL, became a free agent in December when Milwaukee failed to offer a 2017 contract.

RANGERS: Mike Napoli and Texas are working toward another reunion, this time to fill pressing needs the Rangers have for a first baseman and another big bat in the middle of the lineup.

Napoli and the team have been negotiating a contract, said a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations.

INDIANS: Cleveland finalized a $6.5 million, one-year contract with left-handed reliever Boone Logan.

Logan gets a $5.5 million salary this year and the Indians have a $7 million option for 2018 with a $1 million buyout.

RAYS: Free-agent first baseman Logan Morrison and Tampa Bay finalized a $2.5 million, one-year contract.

Morrison, 29, hit .238 with 14 homers and 43 RBI in 107 games for the Rays last season after being acquired from Seattle in a six-player trade last offseason.

ASTROS: Reliever Will Harris is guaranteed $5 million in a two-year contract.

Harris gets $2.2 million this year and $2.8 million in 2018. The deal includes a $5.5 million club option for 2019, and the option price would increase to $6.5 million if he has 15 games finished in 2018, $7 million if he has 25 and $8.5 million if he has 35.

ORIOLES: Pitcher Kevin Gausman and Baltimore avoided an arbitration hearing by agreeing to a $3.45 million, one-year contract.

Gausman can earn performance bonuses under the deal: $50,000 each for 30 and 33 starts. He also could earn $50,000 for making the All-Star team.

DIAMONDBACKS: Versatile infielder Daniel Descalso agreed to a one-year contract.

NATIONALS-RAYS: Washington added to its bullpen depth by acquiring left-handed reliever Enny Romero from Tampa Bay for minor league right-hander Jeffrey Rosa.
