SACO — Marc Beauregard, 87, of Saco, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on Aug. 26, 1929, a son of Maurice and Imelda (Brunell) Beauregard.

Marc graduated from St. Louis High School, Class of 1948, where he played the tuba in the school band. He graduated the University of Montreal in 1953, and later received his bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Vermont in 1957.

He was employed as a laboratory supervisor for Maine Medical Center in Portland for 37 years, retiring in 1996.

Marc enjoyed woodworking and fishing in Saco Bay. Another of his passions was spending vacations on his cabin cruiser. His favorite destinations were Sebago Lake, the Thousand Islands in New York and Montreal. He also had an interest in muscle cars, from GTO’s to Corvairs, anything fast.

Marc will remembered by many for his willingness to help others. He would sponsor families, help them get settled and become United States citizens. He will be sadly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Marcel and nephew, Roger.

He is survived by: his wife of 45 years, Rachel D. (Sabourin) Beauregard; two sons, Roger R. LeBlanc and his girlfriend, Jayne Heatley, of Saco, Robert R. LeBlanc and his wife, Kimberley, of Saco; and three grandchildren, Samuel LeBlanc, Katherine LeBlanc and Laura LeBlanc. He is also survived by: his sister-in-law, Rachel Beauregard; nieces, Carmen and Marie; and nephews, Paul, Robert and Guy.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, with a funeral service at 4 p.m. at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St,, Saco. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
